The undergraduate ENT Societies of the Cambridge and Norwich medical schools are collaborating to organise the 1st East of England Undergraduate & Foundation Otolaryngology Conference.

The conference will take place on Saturday 6th October 2018 hosted at Addenbrooke’s Hospital – School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge. Through this event, we hope to further cultivate interest in the specialty, the training pathway, as well as promote current research in otolaryngology from the East Anglia region and further afield.

The day will consist of two keynote lectures, four student/foundation doctor oral presentations, a poster competition and a series of workshops covering ENT emergencies, audiology, women in ENT (WENTS), global health, collaborative research, surgical portfolio, and the academic training pathway.

The event has been organised by the Student & Foundation Doctors in Otolaryngology (SFO-UK) Regional Representatives for Cambridge and Norwich in collaboration with the Cambridge University ENT Society and the Norwich Undergraduate ENT Society.

About Us

Norwich Undergraduate ENT Society (NUENTS)

In response to the shortage of ENT exposure at undergraduate training level, NUENTS was founded by a group of enthusiastic medical students with a strong interest in Otolaryngology.

Our mission at NUENTS includes:

  • To promote ENT as an attractive career among medical students and foundation doctors in the East of England region
  • To co-ordinate national and regional educational events in ENT for medical students and foundation doctors
  • To raise awareness about common ENT disorders

Cambridge University ENT Society (CUENTS)

Our aim is to create an active network for students with an interest in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery or any of its subspecialties.

CUENTS function as a platform offering academic support to medical students throughout their clinical training and we strive to promote the specialty and showcase the latest research & developments in the field. Since the society was established, we have successfully organised a number of educational workshops and are developing resources to deliver a comprehensive undergraduate curriculum in otolaryngology.
